In the Zone – Biomes Project, Multimedium
Launching the year with this art project energized the class on many levels. We were inspired by a Pinterest project that links to http://apexelementaryart.blogspot.com/2012/05/whimsical-landscapes.html. With a twist on Earth Science, we focused on four biomes to create our perspective. Starting with the foreground, we sketched the biosphere, hydrosphere, geosphere and atmosphere, drawing the eye into our earthscape and up towards the sun. Then we were up to our elbows in black glue, a mix of white glue and acrylic. We needed patience and paperclips to keep the project flowing. Literally! After the scenes dried, we brought them to life with vibrant colors that still dance above our heads in our “Lighted Loft Gallery.” We get so many compliments about our Gallery because the vibrant, creative energy coming from these beautiful pieces is palpable. This Biomes Project launched us right into multiple investigations and readings in earth, physical and life science.

Wow!
That was great! I love your project. I love to do art. Mostly drawing and sculpting with clay or plasticine. My dad is an artist so I was born loving art! What inspired you to love art? What was your first or favourite piece you have done? If you want to visit my blog, the link to go there i: http://hollyl110gst.edublogs.org/
